The Consulate-General is open from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on holidays. The Consular Hours for acceptance of visa applications, passports and other documents are between 9.30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.. Visa applications deposited by 11:00 a.m. will be delivered the same day, the others the next afternoon. Pick-up time for visa, serviced passports and other documents is between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Applications can also be accepted during afternoon hours for processing against payment of an extra C$ 55/- besides normal fees applicable. ( There is a separate time frame for Canadians of Pakistani and Sri Lankan origin and nationals of other countries ).

Consular Services are rendered on a ‘first come - first served’ principle. There are two turn number machines - one for Visa applicants and the other for Indian Passport and other services. All visitors are requested to take a number appropriate to the service required and to be seated in the Consular Hall for their turn.

The same principle applies for the Pick-ups as well except that in the afternoon there is only one set of turn numbers for both visa and Indian passport services.

For faster service at the Visa/Passport Counter and with a view to reducing the waiting time of the applicants, all visitors are requested to keep their passports, applications with photos where necessary duly pasted/stapled, relevant supporting documents, photocopies where required, exact fees, etc ready before proceeding to the Counter.
Please apply for visa well before your departure. You could also think of sending your documents to us by mail / courier.

Drop Box Facility For Visa cases only
Those applicants who come outside the stipulated times/ are in a hurry / do not wish to wait for their turn to pay their visa fees at the counter, can avail of the 'drop box' facility. In this system, the visa application and passport can be left with the officer on duty in the Reception / Enquiry Counter against a temporary receipt. The visa fee in this case has to be paid only through a Money Order, Certified Cheque or Bankers cheque ( no cash / personal cheque/ credit or debit card ) for the exact amount of the fees, drawn in favour of the Consulate-General of India, Toronto. Regular computerised receipt will be given at the time of delivery of visa affixed on the passport.
