Visa Information -
All those who do not hold Indian Passports, need a visa
to enter India. A visa for India is valid only for India
and not for any other country. Even children need to apply
for a visa for visa, by filling up the visa form and paying
visa fee. Even if the child’s name is included in
the parent’s passport and the child does not hold
a separate passport, they must fill the form, pay fee and
complete other formalities.
Processing time for issuing visas: If visa applications
are complete and payment is confirmed, visa is granted between
two-five days. Sometimes applicants are asked to give additional
documents or to come to the Embassy for interview. Depending
on duration and purpose of visit to India applications are
sometimes sent to India. In such cases, processing time
is between two-four months. Embassy is not responsible for
any delay, if application form is incomplete or if payment
is not confirmed. From October to March processing time
is longer.
